Wholefoods will stop using plastic bags in all stores by Earth Day, 2008!

Wholefoods has announced that they are going to stop using plastic bags in all of their stores by Earth Day (April 22nd, 2008)

This is an incredible move for the supermarket chain as they estimate upwards of 150,000,000 plastic bags are used each year in their stores.

Not sure if everyone knows this, but if you bring your own bags (such as Hemp and Organic Cotton canvas bags) to Whole Foods, they deduct $.05 cents for each bag you use from each purchase!

Yet another great reason to support Wholefoods and to shop for organic, sustainable, locally produced foods!
