The Hippy Gourmet Newsletter

Welcome to the Hippy Gourmet Newsletter! This is the place where we highlight the progress that our TV series is making as it moves across the U.S. and spreads around the world!

As you can see from our front page, we spent the first part of our summer touring Europe, including an amazing visit in Zurich, (episode #62), ten incredible days in the Netherlands, (episodes 63-72) and finally a breathtaking week in Italy (episodes 73-82).

It’s wonderful to take our show on the road and make so many great new friends. We highlight many talented chefs on our tour, as well as dine in some fantastic and unique spots. These episodes from Europe began airing in September and will continue into November as we make our way through all the spots on our itinerary.

The Hippy Gourmet also cooked out in Amsterdam on a Canal Boat with friends (episode #65) and also at the end of the Euro tour at Miramare on the Tuscan coast (episode #82), bringing the recipes of fine vegetarian and vegan styles to the continent.

The Hippy Gourmet on PBS!

The Hippy Gourmet TV Show is broadcasting on public television stations around America! The first broadcasts include a variety of 3-minute recipe segments, or visual appetizers if you will, that act as ‘fillers’ in between scheduled PBS programming. These recipe segments are like mini-episodes of our series, featuring some mouth-watering dishes, edited into bite sized portions that are fun, informative and super colorful!

The Hippy Gourmet 3-minute recipe segments were produced in part by Chris Cochran, an Emmy Award winning public television producer and director, which we are proud to have assisting our team effort.

For those viewers and web guests visiting us from America, please get out and VOTE on November, 2nd 2004! For those viewers and guests visiting from around the world, we welcome your support.

Coming this Fall on The Hippy Gourmet!
The Hippy Gourmet hits the Mendocino coast for an awe inspiring visit to the Stanford Inn! This is a bed and breakfast on the majestic coast of the Pacific that offers a real twist, as their dining room specializes in Vegan and Vegetarian gourmet recipes. Most of the ingredients come directly from the Stanford Inn’s organic gardens, picked fresh daily by their chefs, who then prepare for us a few of their signature dishes!

SolFest 2004!
The Hippy Gourmet returns to the Institute for Solar Living in Hopland, California to make a few very special ‘Solar Pizzas’ – cooked only with the power of the sun in two solar ovens. The SolFest brings out hundreds of companies offering innovative solutions to global human issues, and attracts thousands of people from around the world to participate in this two day event. The location of the Solar Living Institute was formerly a dumping ground for industrial purposes, converted to become a self-sustaining, off-the-grid building complex with a beautiful lake, solar and wind powered everything and organic gardens that actually feed all of the interns and staff!

Thank you for your continued support and for watching our show grow!
